Katie McCready [Duty Manager]
I have been involved within the Sport and Leisure Industry all my working life which started with a Lifeguarding job at the age of 16.
Since then I have gained a degree in Recreation Management, outdoor instructor qualifrications in Kayaking and Sailing and a Post 16 teaching qualification.
After spending six years doing seasonal work at varioys outdoor centres including on in Australia and part time lecturing at Weymouth College, I decided it was time to 'gro up' and find a full time position.
I started working at Bridport Leisure Centre as a Recreation Supervisor in August 2011 and soon progressed to the role of Duty Manager. My role involves making sure that the Centre is running smoothly and that customers are enjoying the best possible experience.
Since joining Bridport Leisure Centre I have gained the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification, Pool Plant Operator Certificate and First Aid at Work. I am looking forward to progressing and developing my qualifications further and in the very near future will be hoping to gain the ASA Level 1 Swim Teaching qualification.
In my spare time I enjoy yacht racing, kayaking and cycling. I also like to keep fit by swimming, using the gym and attending fitness classes.
